Halloween 2014

A little late in coming...but better late than never!  Here are the Halloween pictures.

The boys, particularly Sebastian, are obsessed with Toy Story lately.  One day a while back, Adi started doing a hand motion and then said, "Mama, like the army man."  He had picked up on the EXACT hand motions that the toy soldiers do in the first Toy Story movie.  And from then on, Adi has been obsessed with the "Ah-my man."  (Sebastian is obsessed with Buzz.)

My mom saw army stuff in the Dollar Tree stores and gave me a heads up. Then I found army shirts and pants at Target.  They had black high top sneakers "ah-my man boots" from Tía Mimi.  All set!  What I like the most is that they can still use the clothes now, even after Halloween is over.

This is how Adi salutes.

And this is him doing the two-fingered hand motion from the movie.

The weekend before Halloween we met their old friend Brooke a.k.a. "Brookie" at Derby Street for their Trick or Treat at the stores.  The boys had a BLAST.  This was the first year they have really understood the idea of Halloween and getting treats from people.  They went to EVERY store at Derby street that was giving out candy.

On Halloween, the boys' preschool had a Halloween party.  They had a "parade" around the cul-de-sac and then all sorts of chaos (I mean "activities") ensued.  It was adorable.  The boys were fussy when they saw me--they only wanted to come with me and didn't want to march with their friends in the "parade."  But it was all ok.

The witch is Miss Helena.  She is from Ireland, and she's lovely.  She's so good and calm and patient with the boys.

The lego is Miss Bianca.  She's great, too.  They all are.

This is Sebastian with his buddy Andrew.

The teachers had to keep stopping to count all the kids because this kept happening...and it wasn't only my kids!  Luckily the school is set way back from the main road and they pretty much had freedom to move around.

The elf is the center director!  Too cute!  The boys didn't want to play musical chairs.  Too bad.  But, actually, neither did these kids, really.  Over their heads and too much else going on.  I had to give the teachers credit--I was exhausted just watching it all.

On Halloween night, the weather was PERFECT.  Not too cold.  Just perfect.  The boys had such a great time!  We did about half of the neighborhood, only going to the houses of the people we know.

Mini manned the candy bowl at the house while we went around with Grumpy.

Happy Halloween!
