Beatin' the Heat

It's been so hot and humid the past few days!!  I'm not complaining after the winter we had--it finally feels like SUMMER!  But still, it's hot!

We kept cool by going to the library.  The boys have certain books that are practically theirs now...Some of the Llama Llama books, a particular Batman book that Adi sleeps with (!), and The Little Blue Truck book.  The love to do puzzles there and they always want to play Magnatiles there, even though we have a lot more of them at home!?

One afternoon we set up the kiddie pool.  It was so hot and humid that all of us (including Carlos after work) got in it!!  It felt great, actually!  ;-)  The boys also were able to practice blowing bubbles and putting their heads under water without us having to hold them constantly like we do at my mom's pool.  And we threw them around a little so that they went under the water and got used to it.  The loved it.

 Today the humidity is less, but it's still darn hot.  Our awesome neighbors let us use their log splitter to chop up some wood from a tree that we had to take down this spring.  They saved us a lot of time and energy.  Sebastian actually ran the machine!  He did a pretty darn good job, too.  He figured out when to push the lever forward and backwards to make the wedge move. He had fun.  Adi wouldn't go near the machine...

We're off to Hull and the beach this afternoon after naps.  Yeah!
