After School Surprise

Last Wednesday I was alone with the boys after they got out of school because Carlos had a doctor's appointment.  On a whim, I decided not to take them right home...we drove from Milton to the splash pad.  The boys loved the change in routine--they were thrilled to go to the "agua park"!  I was glad I mixed it up a little, too.  No harm done.  They were still in bed by 7pm-ish and they had a great time.

Once again, we had the place almost to ourselves.  But that will change--school is out now AND the wading pool part was supposed to get filled last Friday.  Bummer.  I wish there were more splash pads around!

Water Fun!

Last weekend was amazing.  It was PERFECT weather, and we made the most of it.  I'm trying to squeeze out every last minute of June because it feels like "found" time.  Even in July, I'm already feeling the pressure of having to go back to school.  :-(

Anyway, we went to the beach after naps, around 3pm.  The boys played in the water for over an hour--probably more like 1.5 hours.  They went in the water, ran around on the beach, and played in the sand.  They were happy as clams.  It was so nice to see them entertain themselves there and enjoy "Grumpy's beach."

After the beach, we went back to Grumpy's house and had a feast: fresh fish, steak, rice, pasta salads, asparagus, and--a special surprise: LOBSTER ROLLS!!!  Dad knocked it out of the park.

All three boys had a great time playing with James's parking garage and the boys' McQueen cars.

Sunday we had brunch at Anne's and the three boys played.

Then, in the afternoon, we went to Mini's house.  The plan was to put a remote control boat from Tom into the water and watch it race around.  But we got all the way to the Nip and the boat didn't work--the battery seems to be dead.  So we have to buy a new one.  The boys still had fun watching the boats, though.  After we went to Mini's house for a swim.  The boys LOVED the pool--I'm so excited because even last year, they were reluctant to get in and swim around.  No so this time!  They are pumped for their swim lessons at Mini's house with Miss Kim starting in July.  Sebastian keeps telling us he's going to learn to swim with Miss Kim and asking when his lessons start.  Yeah!!!

Too bad these ones were blurry because Adrian was making funny faces...

This is going to be a fun summer!  The boys get excited about things now...Can't wait to do more!

Living Like It's Friday Night

This part of summer (June!) is like a Friday night...none of the weekend/summer is wasted yet.  It's the best part.  Once July comes, it's Saturday and then August is a Sunday night...school threatening on the horizon again.

The weather hasn't been stellar lately, but good enough.  The boys have enjoyed some good time playing out side.  We have a bigger pool, but it's dirty and buried under junk the garage.  So we made do...

It warms my heart when the boys "help" Papa mow the lawn.

Saturday afternoon we went to the Splash Pad at Freetown State Forest for the first time of the season.  The wading pool part doesn't open until school lets out, but the splash part IS open.  There was hardly anyone else there--lovely since the place is usually packed!

Sunday we had breakfast at Brianna's with Mrs. Donut and Billy.  Then we went to Kitchen's birthday party.  So nice to see everyone!

The boys helped Tia Carol put the candles on Kitchen's cake.  All my photos appear backwards in the blog in terms of the time sequence...oops.  Too lazy to re-upload.

It was a fun day!!!
