List of House Projects

To help us remember the way the house was when we first bought it, we took a ton of "before" pictures which I've already posted on the blog.  We'll use the blog to document the changes and updates as we go so that our family can follow the progress and also look back on it when it's done (hopefully someday!).  I wish we had done a better job of documenting the changes, updates, and improvements we made to the condo as we went along. 

So here's a list of future projects we want to undertake!

Whole house

new plugs and outlet covers (so they are all consistent--probably white)
paint all walls and ceilings (they were painted horribly!)
paint interior doors
change door hardware
refinish hardwood floors upstairs

Kitchen

Update floors
change out light fixtures (over table and over island)
update countertops
(whole kitchen redo in 5 years?  or just cabinet faces/refinishing?)
clean cabinets with Murphy's Oil Soap
install over stove microwave
new island stools

Hall bathroom

repaint and change out hardware or completely change vanity
new faucet
change embroidered toilet seat
change light switch
remove linoleum and put in tile floors
new medicine cabinet or mirror
new light fixtures

Full bathroom

change faucet
eventually change out sink and medicine cabinet
change light fixtures
new medicine cabinet
towel bars/hooks for towels

Living room

Rip off wallpaper and paint
chimney sweep
chimney cap/patch masonry
paint built-ins
paint back of built-ins contrasting color

Hallway

change two light fixtures

Master bedroom

add overhead light fixture
remove odd doors to closet shelf

Boys' bedroom

add overhead light fixture

Guest bedroom

add overhead light fixture

Basement

change flooring (new carpet? hardwood? laminate?  combination?)
add a humungus awesome BAR!!!!!!!!!
patch wall where TV used to be built into wall
paint paneling
change overhead light fixtures
add light switch for TV area in convenient place
get rid of fake brick paneling--replace with dry wall

Basement bathroom

new flooring
paint/change hardware or replace vanity
new medicine cabinet
new towel bars/hooks
paint paneling or re-drywall


Porch

find some nice patio furniture
add Christmas lights
paint roof/beams

Garage

Nothing!!!  At least right now!!!  :)

Outdoors

cut down tree in front yard (rotting)
plant vegetable/herb garden
