December Fun

Lately, Adrian won't let me dress him in the morning unless I put Army man gear on him.  He is obsessed with his army man stuff.  Any guesses as to what Santa will probably bring him?

The boys have figured out the etch-a-sketch and like messing around with it.  It's getting so much more fun as they play with better and better toys instead of infant stuff.  Thank God.

Adi likes to "help" Papa fix the toys he breaks.  Fortunately/unfortunately, there always seems to be a chance to fix a broken toy...

The boys enjoy doing their "army man exercises."  They run, gallop, jump, march, walk, crawl backwards and forwards, kick, punch, roll, and "tippy toe tippy tippy tippy toe" across the playroom.  It tires them out--somewhat, anyway!  All the photos are blurry because they are in motion.

A few weeks ago Milton paid the whole family's admission to the Museum of Science.  It was great!  It's so darn expensive.  And, because they did the heavy lifting with admissions costs, we footed the $22 bill for all 4 of us to see the Polar Express 4-D movie.  The boys LOVED it.  They didn't even blink during the 15-minute movie.  They were amazed that it snowed on them etc.  Fun!

Then we ran around the museum.  Most of it was way over their head, but it was fun anyway.  We went to lunch at Fiorella's Express in Belmont first and made a day of it.

Sebastian and Adi love chili-covered mango.  Here is Sebastian.

 And Adi.

The boys love their Christmas PJs.  But they especially love to tuck their devil tales (from Halloween last year) into their pants and run around.  It's somehow seems very appropriate...

Balance cactus!  Adi loves to do it.

And Sebastian created the Polar Express on his train table with a black train.  He had me make Santa a sleigh out of Duplo blocks.  And we made the North Pole/Santa's house with Magnatiles.  I love that he is using his toys (or wanting me to help him use his toys) in creative ways.

This is his "elf" hat.  He loves elves.

I can't believe Christmas is only 5 days away!  Where did the season go?  I'll be so sad when it's over.  The boys have enjoyed looking at Christmas lights, opening their "surprise box" advent calendars, and looking for "Cookies" their elf every morning.  Things will seem so dull when Christmas is over.  We'll have to work on establishing some winter traditions to get us through the rest of the cold, dark, and snow after 12/25.
