A Day Out With Thomas

Mini started off our summer in style by inviting us to A Day With Thomas at Edaville Railroad today.

The boys were all excited about it when they woke up this morning.  In fact, on the ride to Carver, Sebastian wouldn't stop talking about Thomas.  The park opened at 9 and we got there around 8:30, so we headed back to a Dunkin and had some munchkins.

The first thing we did was ride the carousel since it was right at the entrance.  As usual, Adi loved it; Sebastian did not.

After, Adi and I rode the flying elephants.  Sebastian didn't want to ride it, so he stayed with Mini.  And, in fact, he cried at first just because Adi and I went on it.  But then he got over it.  We got Percy (Seb) and Thomas (Adi) tatoos, and then boarded Thomas.

It was a nice slow ride around the property.  I would have liked if it were a bit longer, but it was nice while it lasted.  They are doing quite a bit of building--seems like it will be a different place in 2-3 years.

The boys walked the entire park without a stroller (yeah!!) and we rode the caterpillar and a teeny tiny train.  The boys liked climbing in this wooden train.

Then we went and got a better look at Thomas.  It's actually hard to see him when you're riding the train.  Thomas talks and his face moves etc.

I think the thing that the boys liked the most was meeting Sir Topham Hatt.  We actually had to go back and see him a second time.  But he was leaving to have tea with Lady Hatt when we tried to see him again.  Oh well.

The boys also liked the indoor part where they had various train tables set up.  There weren't many trains to play with, though, and Sebastian started to have a melt down.  He got over it, but I cut his time short playing with the trains which he didn't like.

Anyway, it was a GREAT morning.  We left around 11, so the boys had lunch and went happily off for their nap.  The weather was perfect--not too hot or muggy.  Thank you so much, Mini!!!!!!!!

The boys played outside ALL AFTERNOON.  Like more than 2 hours.  They went down the slide into their tiny pool OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.  I had to keep refilling it with water.  Then they'd get a change of scenery playing with the water table for a bit and then their houses and then back to the pool.  I hung out on the swing.

I didn't take many pictures because they all look the same.  But it was a fun afternoon as well.  A great way overall to start our summer vacation together!
